Split and combine conveyor routes

Updated
Start here

A Moon Sweepers splitter alternates between outputs according to the player reply. A merger combines incoming routes, and the 1.0.4 patch explicitly says mergers alternate between inputs. Version 1.0.3 added direct port-to-port snapping; 1.0.4 lets crewmates add these nodes to belts built by others. Neither note establishes a manual track selector.

Give each branch a complete destination

  1. Decide which destination belongs on each outgoing branch.
  2. Place the node with its input facing the incoming route, then connect the outgoing belts.
  3. Send material through and observe more than one capsule before judging the chosen branch.
  4. Confirm that each destination has room to receive its share.

Do you need to switch it manually?

The original question asked how to switch tracks and mentioned deleting belts. The answer was that the splitter alternates by itself. The poster's decision to delete one branch afterward is not evidence of a built-in manual switch.

If your goal is to feed two production inputs, first make sure both routes are actually connected. Do not invent a ratio-setting menu or assume a particular adjustable split without seeing it.

Remove the old host-only diagnosis

Launch discussions blamed nodes placed by non-host players. That historical workaround is superseded by the explicit 1.0.3 repair. Make sure the whole crew has the required version before treating an old report as a description of the current system.

For a remaining stoppage, record the first blocked node, its incoming and outgoing directions and the material being carried. A version fix does not prove that every later connection error is the same bug.

What success looks like

Material passes the intended node and reaches both appropriate destinations, or combines onto the chosen outgoing route.
