Recall vehicles after a garage change

Updated
Start here

Moon Sweepers 1.0.3 changes garage demolition: it no longer deletes the vehicles stored there. Vehicles move to another garage, or wait for the next garage you build. Any garage can recall, store and upgrade vehicles you already own.

Find an already-owned vehicle

  1. Use a current game version; vehicle preservation was introduced in 1.0.3. Do not downgrade a 1.0.4 save.
  2. Go to an available garage and check its owned-vehicle options.
  3. Recall the vehicle there instead of immediately buying a replacement.
  4. If you removed the last garage, build a new one and check again.

What the fix does not promise

Preserving vehicles during current garage demolition is different from restoring a vehicle that an earlier build already removed. The patch does not promise retroactive restoration of every previous loss.

It also does not explicitly describe every cargo or vehicle-upgrade edge case. Avoid turning the vehicle-preservation statement into a guarantee about an unidentified save or every item previously carried.

Restore the dust route too

Vehicle availability does not restore your old conveyor layout. When you change the garage location, re-establish its unloading and outgoing route before returning with a large load.

If a supposedly owned vehicle remains unavailable on the current version, record which garage was removed, whether another existed and which ownership state is shown. That is a more specific report than repeatedly buying replacements.

What success looks like

The owned vehicle appears at the available garage. Its unloading route is checked separately before the next cleaning trip.
