Co-op & saves

Use the crew's shared upgrade matrix

Updated
Start here

The shared upgrade matrix was introduced in Moon Sweepers 1.0.3: the crew uses the host's matrix, purchases upgrade everyone, and older saves retain the highest level previously purchased. Keep the crew on a compatible current version rather than treating 1.0.3 as the version to install. Saves created in 1.0.4 cannot open in older versions.

Start with the same version and world

  1. Have every participant use the required current version.
  2. Join the intended host's world.
  3. Inspect the upgrade matrix there before planning duplicate purchases.
  4. Make the next purchase based on the crew's shared progression.

Matrix sharing is not every form of ownership

The official change is specific: the crew shares the host's upgrade matrix. It does not, by itself, establish that every handheld item or vehicle purchase becomes shared ownership.

Keep those questions separate when comparing a report. A matrix level, an item held by another player and an owned vehicle shown in a garage are different observations.

Why launch reports disagree

Older reviews and guides describe players buying upgrades separately. The 1.0.3 note directly changes that matrix rule, so those reports should not be copied as current advice.

If a level still differs, preserve the version, host world and exact upgrade being compared. A mismatch is something to investigate; it does not justify assuming the entire historical rule still applies.

What success looks like

The crew can identify its shared matrix in the intended host world and plan a purchase without relying on obsolete separate-upgrade advice.
